Clothing
  1. Because of frequent changes in temperature it is often impossible to decide on the amount of clothing that the baby needs. It is our impression that most mothers overclothe their infants. In general, we recommend that the child be clothed in a similar fashion that the adult clothes himself, i.e., the same number of layers of clothing.
  2. Clothing should be as simple as possible, soft in texture, light in weight, and should fit loosely. All clothing should be fitted so that the body is not constricted in any place.

Mountain Passes

Frequently, when an infant rides over a mountain pass, he gets an ear infection (because his ear gets "blocked"). It is suggested to feed the baby a bottle as you drive over the pass to attempt to keep the ears "unblocked" and thus prevent an infection, but keep the infant in an upright position while feeding.
